I Got A ‘Push Present’ – Beautiful Mom Jewelry

While I was pregnant, I specifically remember telling my husband not to buy me a ‘push present’.  If you don’t know what that is, it’s basically a gift your husband gives you for pushing your baby out.  Lol, it’s kind of silly… I mean I felt like my baby was a present in herself.  I told him not to spend the money but of course he was bound and determined to get me something (I really had no idea what he had been up to).
To my surprise (and I’ll admit even though I told him not to get me anything, I was thrilled to receive the gift he had found) he had bought me a necklace.  But not just any necklace, a handmade personalized necklace from an artist that I had been admiring on Etsy for a while.
This melted my heart:
mabelnecklace
He had her name put on it so I can always have little Mabel with me!
Well, it’s safe to say that I’m in love with the artist, Lisa of Under Her Charm – Hand Stamped Jewelry.  She makes an amazing and unique line of jewelry that ranges from ‘family necklaces’ to bracelets, rings, and a few items for pet lovers.  Pretty much everything in her store can be personalized, which guarantees you will be the only one in the world that has that specific piece of jewelry.
This is the next necklace on my list that I’ll be dropping hints for my Hubby to get me for my birthday:
This has to be my favorite family necklace ever!  I want my husband to put the year of our marriage, the little dog tag with our initials, an M for Mabel along with the day she was born and then her birth stone hanging from it!  If you have more than one child, you can get more initials with birth dates on them.  Such a wonderful idea!!!
These are some other items that I really like that Lisa has in her shop:
Diamond Initial Necklace
Baby Sterling Silver Hand Stamped Cuff Bracelet
There are a ton of other great jewelry items on her site.  You owe it to yourself to go and check her shop out!  Let me know what you think!

That’s so sweet! I love the idea of a push present! The tradition is designed to give the mother something that she will have for the rest of her life that commemorates her experience of bringing a new life into the world. The actual gift itself should be symbolic of an endless love and desire for protection of the mother and child throughout their lives. It’s deep, emotional, and beautiful. That being said, new shoes would not fall into the category of a “perfect push present”, and it is not a selfish act but rather a self-LESS act of kindness and joy. Juno Lucina just launched a whole line of beautiful push gifts for new mothers (www.jlucina.com). That is what the perfect push gift looks like.
