What New Parents Must Have – A Keurig Review

I bought a Keurig brewer a few months ago and have finally gotten around to start using it.  And trust me, I’m very glad that I bought it (and so is my Hubby).  As new parents…coffee is our friend!  Not to mention that magical little ingredient named caffeine.  🙂

I’m in love…look at all the different choices of coffee and tea!!!

As very sleep deprived individuals due to waking up several times a night to feed Baby Mabel,  coffee is a much welcomed treat in the morning.  I’ve always been a coffee fan but never a fan of having to wait for my old brewer to take its sweet time to brew a batch.  And as a new parent, time is very important since it’s soooo limited…my free time is relegated according to when I don’t have a crying baby in one arm and a bottle in the other.  The Keurig is my answer, it’s instantly ready to pour me cup when I need it.  Hubby also loves that he doesn’t have to wait to brew a cup of coffee to grab and go with him to work.

Now don’t worry, I’m not downing cup after cup.  🙂  But if caffeine isn’t your thing, Keurig has lots of decaf options and caffeine free teas for you to choose from.  For those of you who don’t know, the Keurig brews 1 serving at a time called a K-Cup.  That way, you don’t have to brew a whole pot of one type of coffee if you and your spouse want a different type.  Great idea!!!  I can’t list all the varieties of K-Cups but you can check them out on the Keurig site here.

Worried about the price?  Don’t be!  They have multiple model options that range in price according to your budget and what you want out of your machine.  I have the mid-range Keurig Special Edition Brewing System that is priced at $149.95.  Other models range from $89.95 to $249.95.  Honestly, it might seem like a high price, but when I was used to buying coffee at Starbucks everyday, I’m saving so much by making it myself (plus Starbucks now makes K-Cups for Keurig!).

Okay, this isn’t a sales pitch, I just wanted to share with you one of my favorite items since I haven’t seen too many reviews on the Keurig brewer.

Do you have a Keurig?  What do you think of it?  What is your favorite K-Cup?

I LOVE my Keurig. My hubby got it for me for Christmas. So far my favorite K-cup is the Cafe Escapes Chai Latte and The Caribou morning blend (with caramel creamer). There's a bunch more I want to try though!

Love the Keurig!! It's great for us because I like a bolder coffee than my husband! My favorite is the Barista Prima French Roast! It's bold enough that I can use it for a larger travel cup. I also use it to brew hot water for nighttime tea!

Looks way nice! I'm not a coffee drinker, but I will pass the info to my sister, she will love this!

We have the same model as you, LOVE it! I hate the price of K-cups though, especially with newborn baby #2! For Christmas, we got reusable k-cups by Ekobrew (on Amazon) as an alternative and they have been fabulous so far! If you want a cheaper route than actual K-cups, these have been great for us!
