My Two New Baby Feeding Must Haves

I was so excited to create this post that I’m going to start off with an apology since I took the photos with my phone.  ; )  Anyway, back to the topic.  I recently bought two items that I hoped would make feeding Mabel a tad easier and I had success with both!  I figured I should share this since I now believe these two goodies are priceless.

The Boon Spoon

Boon Squirt Spoon

I worship this spoon!  All I do is take a jar of baby food (or a pouch), dump it into the handle of the spoon, screw the spoon tip back on…and I’m good to go.  When Mabel get’s hungry (or as I like to call it hangry = hungry+angry as I saw in Pinterest, lol!) she gets mad at me for even taking an extra second to feed her.  So needless to say, she would get upset when it would take a few extra seconds to get the spoon from the jar to her mouth.  This spoon solves that problem because it takes just a squeeze and she’s good to go for another bite.

This spoon also eliminates food droppage (once again another word that isn’t in the dictionary) when going from the jar to the baby.  This might not be a problem for a lot of you but I’m a klutz and manage to drop everything.

As soon as I’m done feeding her, I make sure to wash it out.  I just hold it under the faucet and the water pressure and some soap takes care of cleaning it.

Now, I know some of you have voiced your opinions on Facebook for your dislike of this spoon.  The only issue I’ve ever run into occurs if I don’t clean the spoon right away after I feed Mabel.  If you let the food sit in the spoon or in the spout, it will dry and be a little difficult to clean.  But I’ve fixed this by just letting the spoon sit in hot water for a few minutes.  Also, if you’re going to be making your own food an using this spoon, I would suggestion making sure the food isn’t too lumpy since I think bigger chunks might not pass through the spout.

BabyBjorn Soft Bib

BabyBjorn Soft Bib

The other day I came to the conclusion that I was totally over washing a million food crusted bibs.  There had to be a better way.  And low and behold there is!  I found the BabyBjorn Soft Bib on Amazon and ordered it right away.  Of course as soon as I got it, I Instagrammed it and a bunch of you told me that you had it and loved it too!  I was pretty excited to make Mabel my guinea pig the next day.

Major success on the first go around.  You’ll see in the pic that the neck is fully adjustable and it just snaps into place.  It’s easy to put on your child but not so easy that it falls off if your child is messing with it.  The bib maintains its shape and caught every bit of baby food that escaped Mabel’s mouth.  Basically the food just slid down the plastic and was caught in the cupped bottom.  When the feeding session was over all I had to do to complete clean up was run the bib under water and the food came right off!  I laid the bib in a dish dryer and it was all good to go for the next feeding.

Seriously?!  I was wasting all that time doing loads of bib laundry?  Wish I would have seen these from the start.

Let me know if you end up picking either one of these up and what you think about them!  ; )
