On The Next Episode of Hoarders….

I look at this and just think ‘ugh’!

Okay, well not really (and no, I’m not a hoarder, lol!).  I’m just very disorganized and always have been.  My sewing room has pretty much been the dumping ground for things that don’t quite fit in other rooms (so my husband is partially to be blamed for this too since I have a huge blue trunk from his school days that was placed in my room and I have no idea what to do with it).  I honestly have sooooo much fabric I have no idea what to do with it all.  And to top it off, I truly believe that if I hadn’t been pregnant when we moved (and just feeling like a whale/sloth combo) all of this would have been taken care of months ago.

The tubs you see are full of clothes…clothes from the past few years (some stuff even from college!) that either don’t fit, are out of style, or are now not ‘mom’ appropriate, ha!  You know, those hoochi mini skirts of American Eagle.  Just not cool any more.

So my mission this week is to tackle this hot mess.  First the fabrics will get folded and placed on the shelving that I have.  Then I plan to start going through the clothing bins.  Either going to donate, sell, or throw out (only if they are in bad condition).  And then that space will be empty and I can put more storage shelves up.

For what?  My Scentsy stuff of course!  Now, with two businesses going on, I have to keep everything in it’s place and I’m bound and determined to do so!

Wish me luck!

FYI, it might be a good idea to donate things that are in bad shape, too, because charities can sell crappy stuff for rags and then the stuff doesn’t end up in a landfill and the charities can use the money. Just a thought!

I will have to look into charities around here that would accept some of the stuff. 🙂 I would love to help others out! Thanks so much for the suggestion. 😉

I kinda think you do have the hoarding gene, all you talk about is all the stuff you are buying online…a lt of stuff no one needs. You must have lots of expendable income!

Jodi, thanks for your opinion. 🙂 Not sure about all the stuff you are referring to ‘that no one needs’ but the photo above is fabric I use for my store (which I need to get some kind of shelving for) and the bins are full of clothes that are a couple of years old (mine and my husband’s combined). I hate the idea of just throwing it out if I can help people in need with it, so off to Goodwill it will go. 🙂
