This is going to be a really random post. I’m just warning you in advance, lol!
Eyeballs seriously freak me out. I can’t watch any show on tv where they talk about eyes or eye surgery…it just sends me into freakout overload. But the odd thing is, I have no problem putting in/wearing contacts.
And with wearing glasses and contacts comes the bi-yearly visit (or in Delaware’s case a yearly visit) to the optometrist. I hadn’t been in over two years and I honestly don’t have a problem going for a checkup, but when I was pregnant, I didn’t go for the simple fact that your eyes temporarily change due to the extra pressure. Then…after having Mabel it was hard to find time to go. So I finally put my foot down and forced myself to make an appointment.
So my Saturday consisted of this:
And then came the dilation.
I told the doctor I didn’t want to have it done…but he talked me into it. I need to be more of a ‘no’ person…haha! The drops always sting a little bit.
Ugh.
Not to mention the end result are giant freaky pupils:
Sorry for the super close shot…smeared eyeliner and all. I think I won’t even wear eye makeup to my appointment next year since it always gets messed up when the doctor puts drops in or touches my eye. But how odd is this photo?! Eww!
Driving home was a nightmare since it was super sunny and the grandma glasses they gave me to wear home didn’t help block out the light at all. 🙁 I spent the rest of the day with a massive headache and napped for 3 hours.
But overall, my visit was good. My eyes hadn’t changed in two years. Woo hoo!
Did you go on base or off? They never dilate my eyes on base, I’m actually pretty thankful for that. I’ve had it done once and it was horrible.
