Stitch Fix #9

Stitch Fix #9 is here!

Look what greeted me when I first opened the box:

Stitch Fix Box July 2013

If you don’t know what Stitch Fix is, it’s basically a fantastic subscription service where you will fill out a detailed style survey and a personal stylist sends you clothing tailored to your answers.  Everything is handpicked, so no generalized picks for everyone.  I’ve had an amazing experience so far and I feel like each box they’ve truly listened to my feedback!  Want to know all the details?  Check out my first Stitch Fix post where I explain everything!

So let me get back to my most recent fix!

I was even more excited for this month’s box.  Why?  Well, since the end of May I’ve lost a total of 10 pounds and I feel great!  It’s made buying new clothes more rewarding and I’m finally feeling like I’m getting close my pre-baby body!  It’s about time, right?!

Woo hoo!

So here is what my personal stylist Alexandra from Stitch Fix put in my box this month:

And yes…please ignore my messy bedroom…it’s been a busy week and making the bed was not a priority that day.

Outfit #1

  • Eight Sixty Striped Maxi Dress

Stitch Fix Eight Sixty Striped Maxi

My fashion sin in this photo was not wearing the right bra.  My straps are hanging out (bra straps are not supposed to be seen!) and I didn’t adjust the straps on the dress so it didn’t exactly hang like it should.  That was my fault.  It was a bit more pricey than other dresses I’ve received in other boxes so I couldn’t justify keeping it.  Big sad face.  🙁  But I thought it would have been a really fun dress for the beach or a casual night out.

Outfits #2 and #3

  • Kensie Johnny Skinny Jeans (in both photos)
  • Peach Polka Dot Sleeveless Tank
  • Back Button Turquoise Sweater

Stitch Fix Kensie Ankle Biter Skinny Jeans

Sorry for not being able to list the maker of both of these tops…I accidentally tossed my packing slip before I wrote this post so I can’t remember what the label names on them were.  I wasn’t feeling the sleeveless tank at all, maybe because I didn’t have the correct tank to pair it with?  Or the fact that I just don’t like seeing my arms…either way, it just didn’t look right.  The sweater was cute…but still not exactly what I was looking for.  The jeans on the other hand were amazing!  Those were keepers!

Outfit #4

  • Ark n Co Cattie Belted Dot Print Dress

Stitch Fix Ark n Co Cattie Belted Dot Print Dress

One word = LOVE!  This dress was a keeper too!  It was the perfect combo of retro and modern and I felt good about the shape that it gave my waist and hips.  Now I just have to get my husband to take me out so I have an excuse to wear it.  🙂

This box made me pretty happy overall!  Though I only kept two things, I am so completely in love with the dress and jeans that it made the box 100% worth it!

I’m also going to make every attempt for my next Stitch Fix post to have better pics…sorry for the junky camera phone shots.

The jeans look great! And I think you look great in both the polka dot tank and the light sweater. And I agree.. that dot print dress is a keeper. 🙂

This kinda made me sad. I went to sign up for it, and they don’t offer it for plus size people. Kinda broke my heart to think, just because I have a lil weight I have to be treated differently. 🙁

Tabatha, please don’t be sad! I’ve seen a lot of people asking them about offering plus size options…and I think it’s just a matter of time before they offer it. They just opened boxes a few months ago to everyone (it had been in beta testing mode before that to a limited number of people) and so everything is still new. I would suggest emailing them and suggesting it. 🙂 I think if they hear it enough that it’s wanted, they’ll offer it!

Thank you so much Sarah! I now own the jeans in a cream color and this dark blue they sent…I’m in love with the cut/style! And with the pre-pregnancy weight…I thought I had already hit my mark but I must have been off with what I had been remembering I weighed, lol! I think I’m finally at it now. 🙂

I’ve never heard of stitch fix before that isn’t too surprising since I’ve been focusing on baby more and not myself. I need to get myself a box and this one is great. I love the jeans! I actually liked the sleeveless tank as well. Going to check out Stitch Fix now. 🙂

It’s still pretty new and I’ve found it fun so far. We don’t have any nice department stores or boutiques where I live so it’s saved me a couple of trips to the city (45 mins away). Plus it’s helpful since there is no dragging the husband and baby to the mall, lol!

    • Morgan says:

It’s such a great idea! Saves me some time and a trip to the mall which is almost an hour away for me. 🙂 You should try it out!

I’ve seen Anne of Modern Mrs. Darcy and Amy J. Bennett talking about Stitch Fix on their blogs. I’m seriously tempted to see what it’s about. Just not sure it’s in my clothing budget at the moment. LOVE the jeans and the dress you kept.

Silly question: the ad right under your About Me and Let’s Connect buttons. Is that Adsense? It was showing an Athleta ad just now and I’ve never seen that before.

PS: I really love your blog design. Very pretty!

You should try it out. There’s not much to lose…though there is a $20 styling fee, I’ve always found at least one item that I’ve wanted to keep to put that money towards. 🙂

And it’s not a silly question. 🙂 I have two ad servers. I use Glam Media for my main ads and then if they run out of ads for me I have adsense set up as my back server. So it was quite possibly a Glam Media ad.
