The holidays are upon us…and you know what that means?  Lots of visitors and me playing the role of the ultimate hostess.  😉  I love having friends and family over, but the constant cleaning is something I could do without, lol!

Vacuuming, cleaning little Mabel’s finger smudges off of the tv, wiping down windows and switching out the toilet paper roles constantly!  And you know what I’m talking about…going into the bathroom to find out that there is an empty tube still on the roll or a new roll just placed on top of the old tube (maybe there are some husbands and kiddos guilty of that sneaky move?!).  Haha!

But I’ve been saved by Cottonelle with their new Triple Roll!  I discovered these bad boys at Target the other day with my freebie/coupon (while supplies last):

Seriously…three rolls in one = less changing the roll and more time for me to enjoy the holidays!  Plus it’s going to be a total life saver when we start potty training in the near future!

In addition to lasting longer on the roll, I’ve found a fun use for the Cottonelle Triple Roll….SNOW DOUGH!

What’s Snow Dough?  A super easy to make sensory dough that your toddlers and kiddos will love to play with.  🙂  Being an elementary school teacher,  I’ve come across lots of sensory activities that I’m finally getting around to making with Mabel.  It’s so important to give your little ones new sensory experiences, to help stimulate their brains, creativity and it’s just plain fun!

So without further ado, this is how you make Snow Dough:

You’ll need 3 household items – Cottonelle, Ivory soap (it has to be Ivory or it won’t work), and water!

I took half a roll of the Triple Roll and ripped it into smaller bits.  Mabel is too young to really help with this but if you have older kids, go ahead an put them to work!  😉

Now you’re going to take your bar of Ivory soap, put it on a microwave safe dish and microwave it for 1 minute on high (you can continue doing increments of 15 seconds until all of it gets fluffy).  It’s pretty neat to watch puff up so let your kiddos watch too!  Just be careful when you first take it out, it will be a little hot but will quickly cool down.

The soap will be fluffy and almost papery too.  It’ll break apart super easily, so break it down into little chunks in the same bowl/bin you have your ripped up toilet paper.

Now it’s time to add the water!  I used about 2 1/2 cups but it’s up to you gauge how dry/wet you want your Snow Dough to be.  Just add a cup at a time until it’s at a texture you/your kids like.

Then it’s good to go…I was easily able to mold it into a snowball!

Now it was Mabel’s turn…she didn’t know what to do at first so my husband jumped right in.

She got the hang of it pretty quickly and had a blast!

She didn’t quite understand how to actually mold things with it yet but she had a ton of fun squeezing her hands through it and hitting it.  It kept her busy for just about an hour too!

Now when it comes to clean up…don’t worry!  It’s super easy to clean since it’s soap to begin with!  No need to worry about anything getting stained!  Awesome right?!  And as an added bonus your house (and microwave) will smell like Ivory soap!

So grab some Cottonelle and make some Snow Dough!

Ashley, my little girl was almost two when we gave this a go and she managed to not get any in her eyes. 🙂 We washed her hands as soon as we were done playing and she was good to go. 🙂
