Four Wonderful Letters

Four wonderful letters:  S-O-L-D.

Well…maybe it should say under-contract…but still!

As of early Tuesday our house had been on the market for 4 days and we had two competing offers on our home.  We hadn’t expected something like that would happen but it was a happy surprise.

At 9:30pm last night we sat down with our realtor and went over both contracts…picked the best option for us, countered the person, we were countered right back, and then before we knew it = we were under contract!

We’re set to close next month, right before we move and I couldn’t be happier.  The idea of paying both a mortgage and rent was keeping me awake at night.  Hopefully the home inspection goes smoothly and I just have to keep my fingers crossed because I know it truly isn’t over until we are at the closing table with all the paperwork signed and hand the keys over.

For now, I’m excited about our future rental, even though it will be bittersweet not owning our own home and leaving this one with all of our ‘firsts’ that are nestled into the walls.

I got a tad choked up when reading my post ‘No Home Sweet Home …At Least For A While’ that I wrote back in 2012. 

But I remind myself that everything happens for a reason, I have those special memories to keep with me, and I’m happy that this home will be able to give someone else the same excitement of purchasing it and the chance to make all new memories within its four walls.
