Mother’s Day Past and Present

It’s Mother’s Day!  I’m super emotional about it…and I’m sure it’s still due to all those crazy post-pregnancy hormones lingering within me, lol!  😉

As I’m currently spending my days taking care of little Millie, I find myself constantly thinking of how lucky I am that she’s joined our family.  I don’t think the amazement will ever fade that I created a tiny human (well, two tiny humans 🙂 ).

Flash back to last spring =

And just like that…we were pregnant with Millie.

We had been trying to get pregnant with our second baby and I had a sneaking suspicion that I was pregnant but nothing truly hits you that it’s real like seeing the word ‘pregnant‘ to know it for sure.

I was happy, excited, and couldn’t wait to share the news.

I told Mabel, but being that she had just turned 2, she had no idea what I was talking about.  She just smiled and looked happy since I was.  😉

Then it came time to telling the husband.  No…there was no fancy schmancy Pinterest way of telling him.  I just gave the Clearblue test that read ‘pregnant‘ to Mabel and told her to give it to Daddy shortly after he had gotten home from work.

Well…two year old Mabel walked over to her father and poked him in the leg with the Clearblue test several times and since his back was to her, he wasn’t sure what was happening.  And then it hit him…he bent down, took the test from her and read it…and looked up with a smile and said to me ‘Really?’.

Yep.

We were going to be parents again.  🙂  Nothing can compare to that feeling.

So here’s to last year’s Mother’s Day as a momma of one:

As good as it's going to get for a mother daughter photo

And here’s to this year’s Mother’s Day with this little girl added to the family:

Me and Millie

Of course I’ll get a photo of me and both of the girls later today.  😉

And here’s to all the soon to be mommas out there and the mommas who are celebrating their first ever Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day.

How did you share the news when you found out you were pregnant?!

Happy Mother’s Day, Morgan! I’m celebrating my first Mother’s Day (my son was born March 2nd!) I had a scavenger hunt for my hubby to reveal that I was pregnant, it was fun 🙂
