Simple Fall Sangria

Fall Sangria - the easiest sangria recipe, with the perfect hints of orange, apple, pear and lemon.

My favorite season has arrived!  FALL!
Thank goodness because I can’t handle the heat of South Carolina summers!

And of course that means fall get-togethers with friends and holidays with family.  I like being able to bring wine as a gift to the hostess (and I’m totally not going to turn down a gift of wine either 😉 ) since who doesn’t enjoy a good glass of wine?  Plus, it’s practical and can be enjoyed right away at the party.

A brand that I’ve recently been introduced to is Crios.  It’s a family run winery in Argentina.  The founder, Susana Balbo, has pretty impressive credentials being that she is the President of Wines of Argentina and is constantly seeking ways to enhance and innovate her wines.  Fun Fact = crios means offspring in Spanish and Susana’s grown children are now helping to run the company.

My most recent bottle that I enjoyed was the Red Blend (a layered, juicy and smooth flavor):

This wine alone is perfect with BBQ chicken, grilled sausages, smoked Gouda cheese and is a combo of other wines: 40% Bonarda, 40% Malbec, 15% Tannat, and 5% Syrah.

And the inspirational motto on the back of this bottle is Explore Something NewAnd I took that to heart.  I decided to create a drink for those fall occasions where a savory adult beverage would be appreciated!  Since the Red Blend has notes of plum, black pepper spice, and blackberry jam, I thought it was only fitting to make a fall inspired sangria.

I kept everything simple…added apples, oranges, pears, and lemons to the already amazing wine.  And since the wine has delicious hints of spice to it, it automatically gave all the fruit a warmer and cozier flavor.

The recipe is super easy, hardly any preparation work other than cutting fruit, and of course provides a pretty drink to serve to your guests!  And a heads up…make this the night before your gathering since the fruits in the sangria need time to infuse the wine!
