Time For A Change

At the very beginning of this year I chose the word EVOLVE.
(if you have a minute, go ahead and read it).

Every single part of that post has stuck with me the past three and a half months.  Weighing heavily on my mind, I’ve pretty much taken a complete break from blogging and social media.

I spent more time with my girls and husband, not worried about deadlines, responses, or emails, enjoyed binge watching shows on Netflix, pulled out my sewing machine for the first time in year, and just lived life without the expectations of anything from anyone or the internet during that time.

It was nice to be unplugged and be able to regroup!  🙂

And in that time, I thought A LOT about Modern Mommyhood.  I had initially created the blog to talk about becoming a wife and mother…and now, with no more little ones planned, everything felt cramped.  I realized that I wanted to write about everything that is involved in my life, and though being a mother plays a huge role…it’s not the only role that I am.

I’m a creative.
I’m a teacher.
I’m a baker.
I’m a wife.
I’m a best friend.
I’m a lover of history and old things.
I’m a reader.
And just so much more.

It’s all in a name they say, right?
And I feel that I’ve outgrown the name Modern Mommyhood.

So with excitement, and with a bit of sadness since it’s like saying goodbye to an old friend…Modern Mommyhood will now be Modernly Morgan.

Modernly because I wanted the continuity with Modern Mommyhood and Morgan because it’s me.

Hopefully it’s a name that will grow on you…I know it’s not terribly creative but it’s simple and straightforward.

I can’t outgrow modernity or my name.  😉

As a reader, I hope that you will accept this change with open arms and enjoy the changes that will follow.
