In April when we took our anniversary trip to Washington D.C. one of the places at the top of my list to visit was Lush. I know, out of all the places in D.C. wanting to go to Lush sounds silly, right? Well I had never been to one. 🙂
And I’m soooo glad we were able to visit the store in Georgetown! And let me tell you…the store smelled amazing when I walked in and the staff was amazing!!! This was what I got:
1. Bath Bombs (clockwise) Space Girl, Phoenix Rising, Sex Bomb and Golden Slumbers / 2. Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub / 3. Wiccy Magic Muscles Massage Bar / 4. (left to right) Solid Conditioner Bar in Jungle and Solid Shampoo Bar in Seanik
What’s so great about Lush? Well, their items are way more natural and organic than almost every other bath and body product or company. They also believe in fair trade and are a really green company (hardly any packaging if at all!). AND no testing on animals (this makes me really happy!).
So far, I’ve used all but the massage bar and two of the bath bombs and I’ve been super impressed.
I was most skeptical about the solid shampoos and conditioners but those by far are my favorites! My hair is on the fine side so it gets weighed down pretty easily by products and my first thought is that any ‘hippy’ product would leave it flat and greasy. Not the case…I’m so in love with the Seanik shampoo bar that I will continue buying it and I actually want to try some of their other bars too. They last 2-3 months so even though it might seem small, it lasts a long time! The Jungle conditioner bar is a little different. It’s took some getting used to using a bar instead of the liquid conditioner that I normally always used before this. I really liked how it made my hair feel and smell…if you like how Aveda shampoos/conditioners smell, you’ll like the scents of these shampoo and conditioner bars.
The bath bombs have to be the most fun item. They smell amazing and seeing your tub water fizz and change color never gets old…maybe I’m just a big kid at heart? This is what Rising Phoenix looked like and it looked even more pretty in person:
And as for the Rub Rub Rub shower scrub…it smells fruity and fresh. I don’t use it everyday so that I can stretch it out rather than use it up quickly. The sea salt is nice exfoliating and leaves your skin feeling super soft.
The massage bar I haven’t tried yet, since it’s pretty much a more natural version of Icy Hot. I haven’t had any sore muscles…but with working out more in my future…I’m bound to need to use it soon!
With my supplies dwindling from my visit, our closest store is about an hour away so I’ll have to place an order online. And that’s even more dangerous for my wallet since they have more goodies on the website than they do in stores…
What are your favorite Lush products? I’m looking for new suggestions to try out! 😉
