Making the Most of Nap Times

I’ve learned to try make the most of my free time while Mabel is napping. And by free time I mean getting all the the junk done that I haven’t been able to do while she’s awake, i.e. laundry and cleaning…nothing fun.  And lately nothing has been getting done until Hubby gets home since Mabel has been super clingy and cranky…drooling and chomping on her fists.  Her naps are at most 30 minutes, leaving her not quite well rested but with enough energy restored to quickly return cranky in 0 to 60.  I’m just wondering when my sweet Mabel will be returned to me?
Anyway, she went down for a nap today and I decided to try to do a short Zumba workout on the Xbox.  I’ve been on a fitness and health binge lately and I’m trying to workout everyday, even if it is just for a few minutes.  It’s better than nothing, right?
Well, I was doing my best attempt at Latin dance moves and failing miserably.  I was trying, I just looked like a fool since I have absolutely no rhythm.  I must have been doing something right though since I had worked up a sweat.  Suddenly a baby cry came over the monitor…yep, she was up not even 20 minutes after she went down…wide awake.  I’ll secretly admit that I wasn’t too upset to go get her though since the virtual Zumba instructor was kicking my butt.
Over a week of doing my Zumba and I have yet to earn a ‘high score’, lol!  I just can’t even complete a session for it to save the number of calories I’ve burned.  Oh well!
I figured Mabel owed me for this workout interruption…so I made her pay by being my guinea pig with my new camera.
I don’t think she minded…

You should totally look into The Wonder Weeks book! It explains ALL of these times to the tee and tells you why it's happening, what to do and what to expect! It's wonderful!

Omg that photo is so cute! Her little outfit, hair, clip, quilt- everything! Has this photo been edited at all? It's just so great!

Do you like the Zumba? I need to find something I can do at home. I need to exercise! I go for daily walks with Clara, but need something else. I was thinking about doing that Brazilian Butt workout thing (or something?).. but don't know if it's good or not.

Just a suggestion here- my first daughter used to be the same at nap time and then I started putting her on her belly just for day time naps- so I could check her as she slept like a dream- you might want to give it a try. I know some people are anti- belly for there babies but it worked for me and I only did it during the day. Thought I would share!
