As always, I give my readers a heads up to sponsored content: this is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Hot Shot® Insecticides.
So most of you know already that we are temporarily living with my dad until our home is ready in South Carolina. And that means pulling our weight around here to help out with a few things here and there to make life a little easier for him. He lives alone and the house is a bit large for him so it felt good to help out.
Yes, that includes killing bugs. Don’t let bugs feel at home!
Seriously, who wants bugs in their house? Not me!
Anyway…while my husband and Mabel were playing in the pool, what was I doing? Scoping around the house planning my attack on bugs with my new bottles of Hot Shot®.
And here’s what I found that needed to be addressed:
Exhibit A:
There are a handful of wasp nests all around the house. Yikes!
Exhibit B:
Another wasp nest.
So…to deal with the wasps, I’m going to hit them with the Hot Shot® Wasp and Hornet Spray. It kills immediately and then 24 hours later I can knock the little nests down.
Exhibit C:
Our kitchen window.
Now I know there doesn’t look like anything too terribly wrong with this picture. But during the spring and summer months, sometimes ants tend to make their way in through this window. To deal with this, I’m planning on taking the ivy down since I think it’s a highway for the ants to make easy access to the window. Then, I’ll go inside and spray Hot Shot® Ant and Roach (we don’t have a roach problem but the product works on both!) along the window frame to prevent any access. Since there currently aren’t any ants, this is a great preventative measure.
Maybe I’ve found a new career as an exterminator?
Lol!
Probably not, but it’s great to know that I can take care of all of this own my own and not have to pay the cost of hiring someone. Score!

What type of bug urks you the most? Spiders are my #1 enemy…and for all you long time readers, remember my friend from last summer? Haha!
I HATE spiders! They are so creepy. I’ll have to check this stuff out for our garage.
Oh my gosh, spiders are our worst summer bug! I need to try some of this!
Ahh! The dreaded ginormous house spider. I hate those things. I stepped on one barefoot in the middle of the night one year.
I honestly don’t like any kind of insects, but spiders creep me out the most!
Ha – just looking at that spider pic gave me the heebie jeebies. Hot Shot is the BEST for those wasp and hornet nests for sure!!
Ugh, I HATE any form of bees, wasps, etc and all spiders. Yuck yuck yuck. Awful creatures!!!
Oh I have got to pick up some of this. We are having a big problem with wasp at the moment near our pool!
Our apt building used to be *terrible* about spiders! It was so freaky! I’m glad they’ve been keeping up on the spraying!
I would have freaked if I had seen a spider like that. We always keep Hotshot around the back porch for any bugs we may have.
Hate bugs! My hubby is allergic to wasps and bees so we make sure to keep spray to kill them too.
Oh yuck! Our association sprays every six months but we need something more. Thanks for sharing!
Ugh I HATE bugs! We have someone come every few months and spray, but I love that this is easy to do-it-yourself!
My house would have burned to the ground if I found that sucker hanging out around it. At one of our apartments in Phoenix, we had a constant onslaught of ants, and even after going around the perimeter with a different brand’s spray, they came in from a different spot! Lesson learned, stick with Hot Shot!
