The Next Two Months…

As the month of May is coming to a close, I’m realizing the next two months are going to be kinda crazy!

We are saying ‘see ya’ to Dover, Delaware in just about 30 days!

BUT…there is still a long road ahead of us before we arrive in South Carolina.

long road

So let me give you an update on everything that’s been happening…

*Our current house is still under-contract.  All of the inspections have been done and the house is in wonderful shape.  We’ll go to settlement and the house will be turned over to the new owner on the 30th of June.  I’m happy to have it sold, but it’s bittersweet at the same time…but that’s a whole bundle of emotion there that I’ll save for a later post.

*Movers will come to our house a few days before the house is turned over to the new owner and then all of our stuff will be carted away into temporary storage…I’m really hoping they don’t lose anything.  I’m not optimistic about that…

*As of June 30th we are homeless…the rental home that we got isn’t ready to move in until July 31st (it’s an awesome house…that’s why we are willing to wait).  So, what’s a girl to do?  Move in with her father in Maryland with Mabel and the pugs until the rental home is ready.  Hubs will be going down to the base in South Carolina, live in TLF (temporary lodging), and start work….then come back for us a few days before the rental is available so that we can all drive down together.  Sounds like fun, right?  Living out of a suitcase is never fun but we’re just extremely thankful that my dad is close and that he’s happy to have visitors for a month.

*August will be the month of settling in and unpacking.  I’m ready to just exhale and get used to a new town!

Basically we are just killing time until the movers get here and this may sound silly, but I already feel like our home is no longer ours.  Technically it’s still in our name, but with a buyer ready to make it his own…it just doesn’t feel like ours anymore.  I guess I’m just starting to detach myself from it even though I know when it comes to pulling out of the driveway for the last time, I’ll probably cry.

I’m not good at goodbyes.

That is so awesome you are moving to SC. I live in Sumter SC we have a base here. I hope you are moving close. Would love to meet you. Have safe travels. Good Luck and God Bless!

      Tabatha,
We are actually headed to Sumter. 🙂 Small world! I’m seeing there aren’t a lot of places to do shopping (like Target, lol!) Do you make a lot of trips to Columbia?

Living in a suitcase is never fun nor easy and I couldn’t image doing that while handling a toddler. Hopefully the time with your dad will be enjoyable before you head to SC. I know you will be relieved once things are more settled.

Lol, it’s going to be a crazy month but I figure living with my dad will still be easier than living in a hotel. 🙂 And it truly will feel AMAZING to unpack and get things back to normal!
