Superfruits for a Super Face

August 26, 2013

Clearasil Daily Clear Refreshing Superfruit

Ever since I was about 14 years old, I’ve struggled with my skin…didn’t think it could get worse…

But I was wrong.

Since having Mabel my skin has been on a mission to make my life more difficult!  I mean seriously…I’m getting closer and closer to thirty and I’m still worrying about having to cover up blemishes on my face.  Not cool.  I’ve become a master at applying concealer but it would be so nice to find a solution that would allow me to go makeup free and not be concerned about giant red marks on my face.

I’ve tried everything on the market…some products have worked better than others but for one reason or another I haven’t found anything that I’ve loved.  Recently I was given the chance to try out Clearasil’s NEW! Daily Clear Refreshing Superfruit Cleansers and I’ve been pretty impressed.

Specifically I purchased the Superfruit Wash.   It’s gentle which allows me to use it both first thing when I wake up and before I go to bed but it also has a bit of medication (1% salicylic acid) to help prevent pesky blemishes.  Honestly, with my face I have to have lightly medicated washes to have any effect on my skin issues…so this wash was right up my alley!

Another deal breaker for me when it comes to skincare products are the scents.  If I can’t stand the scent, I won’t use it.  Plain and simple.  I actually look forward to using my Superfruit Wash because of its scent!  It’s a wonderfully light and fruity scent that is pretty yummy!  Yummy as in smelling…don’t try eating it!  The wash also works up into a nice lather.

Now I know what you’re thinking….where’s the commercial with the girl splashing water beautifully all over her face.  Well…you’re not going to see that…but you’ll see me making a fool of myself and my epic fail:

My floor, camera, shirt and head were soaked with my ‘beautiful water splashing experience’.  Note to self – don’t ever do this again…you just end up with a soaking wet bathroom”.

BUT I really do like using Clearasil’s Superfruit Wash on my face.  It doesn’t dry out my skin or leave it feeling tight like other soaps I’ve tried in the past.  I’ve been using it for the past two weeks and will continue…so I’ll keep you all posted on how it’s going!  🙂  So far, so good!

I’m 29 and I’ve always had spots. Not a TON, but enough that going without makeup makes me uncomfy. Recently, I’ve stopped using powder compacts and started using a brush and pressed mattifying powder by Remmel. The powder works well enough that only have to powder my face once or twice throughout the day and getting rid if the (what I assume was) bacteria ridden compact pad has helped my spots.

I always get a few more a couple days before my period, so I make sure to wash my face well before bed and give my face a quick swipe with some astringent for sensitive skin. I do the same thing in the morning on those days and add some moisturizer.

Oh, great advice! I’ll have to try out their mattifying powder and see if it helps at all. And I can totally relate to breaking out during that time of the month….that’s when my face is at its worst but I’m not sure I can do much about the hormones. 🙁

Sounds like an awesome product. And seriously, shouldn’t we be over this acne thing! So not fair.
