Thanksgiving 2012 Recap

Thanksgiving this year was a very small get together of four people:  me, Hubby, my dad, and Mabel.

And it’s safe to say that Mabel was a grump this year…

Maybe she hated the outfit?  I thought it was adorable, but who knows?  Hubby told me it looked like the Joker’s outfit from Batman…ugh!

But she didn’t seem to mind being able to taste some of the food…

And as usual, her hair was crazy!

So what did I cook?  Only the most simple of Thanksgiving foods, lol!  Instead of a turkey, I made a honey glazed ham (I know some of you are probably shocked, ha!).  I prefer ham over turkey and it’s a lot easier not to mess up!  All I had to do was heat it up in the oven.  As for the sides I made a green bean casserole, homemade mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and stuffing!  Pretty standard stuff but it was really good.

My ham in all of its glory:

Delicious!

In addition to watching football, I also put the men to work ‘Mabel- proofing’ the house!  🙂

And of course we had to take the first ever Thanksgiving family photo.  Since I’ve been seeing so many of those ‘parents kissing their baby on either side of the face’ pics, we had to do our take of one (and yes we were having too much fun with making fun of it!  You have to be able to laugh at yourself!):

I was laughing so my face just looks smashed against Mabel’s, Hubby was poking her in the eye with his nose (this was unintentional), and Mabel had a big boo boo on her chin from where she fell the day before.  Priceless.  Not to mention after I loaded this pic to the blog post I realized that Mabel was flipping off the camera.  I guess she wasn’t too pleased.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving…and I wouldn’t have traded it for anything (even a less cranky baby!).  I hope all of you had a fun and memorable Thanksgiving too.  🙂

It’s just sooo easy to make and then we can eat it for the rest of week. I guess you can do the same with turkey too…but just like you, we prefer ham too. 🙂

What a sweet little baby you have! How old is she? I have a ten month old girl, and I am just loving life as a stay at home mom! I’m new to your site but I am really digging the content, consider yourself being followed 🙂

Oh…and I can’t even imagine a Thanksgiving without the big bird (mostly because of the second day turkey sandwiches, yum)!

Hi Noel! She’s 9 months old so just a tad younger than your little girl! 🙂 I just found my way over to your blog and love it! Your fashion posts are great!! Are you on twitter? Can’t wait to catch up on all of your posts!

I have a twitter account but I am so tech (NOT) savvy that I couldn’t figure it out and gave up. I think I’ll have to take a deep breath and try, try again though because I know it’s a great way to branch out! Thanks for checking it out! I just made the move from fashion only to lifestyle so I hope it holds your interest 🙂

p.s. dont you just LOVE this age? If she could stay ten months forever, I’d be okay with that!
