The Knot Genie Detangling Brush + Giveaway

Knot Genie Detangling Brush

If you’ve been following me since Mabel’s birth, you’ll know she was born with a ton of hair!  She never lost any and it’s been both a blessing and a curse.  Her hair has always been super fine, gets matted after every nap and gets knotted super easily!  I dread combing it out since it takes forever and it’s uncomfortable for her.  🙁

I thought we would be stuck with this scenario forever until I stumbled upon Knot Genie and their website.  I was intrigued and decided it was worth my time to watch their video of other moms telling their stories about using the Knot Genie with their children:

It looked too good to be true, right?!  It works on all types of hair and looked so easy to use.  I also loved the idea of not having to battle Mabel over brushing her hair…it all sounded pretty good!  Well, I was lucky enough to be sent a Knot Genie to try out on Mabel’s hair and I must admit I had high expectations!

Knot Genie Brush

It’s a simple brush with flexible bristles in varying lengths.  The cloud like shape fit comfortably in the palm of my hand and was easy to grip.  I first tested it out on myself and it seemed to work quite nicely and the bristles didn’t hurt my scalp (this is important!)

Then came testing it out on Mabel.  😉  She had just gotten out of the bath and had wet and tangled hair.  When Mabel’s hair is wet it gets easily knotted at the ends due to her thin curls and they can be tricky to brush.

I figured I’d give the Knot Genie its biggest test right off the bat…

She was in a good mood and as I began to brush her hair she didn’t fight me like she normally does with her comb!  That was the first success.  Then I was impressed with how easily the brush went through her wet hair.  Most sections were effortless and if I got to a patch with more knots all I had to do was gently brush over that section two or three more times for all of the knots to be out.  If I had been using our normal comb, it would have taken a lot more comb throughs to work those knots out, not to mention taking a lot more time!

I was convinced…the Knot Genie had lived up to its claims!  We’ve been using our Knot Genie for the past month and a half and use it every time Mabel’s hair needs to be brushed!  It gets her hair brushed in a quarter of the time it took me with her plain comb and she doesn’t cry anymore when it comes time to getting knots out.  Success!

And I don’t claim to be a pro at doing hair (especially with Mabel’s double crowns!) but this was her after her hair dried…and yes, I’m very jealous of her eyelashes!

The regular size Knot Genie Retails for $19.99 and in my opinion is worth every penny!  They come in a variety of colors and even have boy friendly designs/colors too!

This sounds amazing! I remember my mom having to brush through my hair as a child. I wish I had something like this back then! Hopefully my 2 month old doesn’t inherit my locks, but if she does, maybe this will make it more tolerable for her!

Um, yes, her eyelashes are amazing! My son is only 4 months but was born with a lot of hair too! I’m pretty sure it’s going to be hard to cut when he gets older!

I dig the peaceful purple! My daughter was also born with a head of hair and she gets knots in it every time she wakes up from sleeping so this would come in very handy!

This is a must have for people that have curly hair. My daughters hair is a nightmare to brush but with the knot genie it’s so much easier. I’ve been using our foe about a year holds up really well. I gave one to my sister in-law for Christmas she loves it! Before it she would cry just thinking about brushing her hair.
Fairy pink would be a great addition to our collection so we could leave one at grandmas.

Oh wow! This would have been perfect for when my hair was so long. It used to take me FOREVER to comb through all the tangles! Definitely need this for Alea’s long hair though!

I NEED this for my 21month old. She was also born with a ton of hair and brushing/combing is a NIGHTMARE. Purple is her favorite color so I guess that would be the color I’d pick!
