Tropical Twist Popsicle

Lately I have been drooling over all the pretty popsicles that I’ve been seeing pinned on Pinterest…I’m sure you know what I’m talking about!  All the fancy ones with different layers and colors!  They left me wondering how did they make those?!?

The answer is Zoku!

So with crazy perfect timing, I was given the opportunity by Zoku to try out their Single Pop Maker and I said YES without hesitation!

I figured it would be a great way to make popsicles in my own home and with my own ingredients…a healthy treat for Mabel (and myself!).

Enough talk…let me show you another photo of what I created…The Tropical Twist Popsicle!

Tropical Twist Popsicle

Seriously, how cool is this?  Two thirds of the  popsicle is orange pineapple and the middle is orange strawberry!

Mabel even approved!  And that chick is a super picky eater!

Now I’m sure you’re wondering how it all works…all you have to do is stick the Zoku Single Pop Maker in the freezer for 24 hours, drop the stick in, fill with juice (or other concoctions), and then in 7-9 minutes your popsicle is ready!  Simple as that!  I only have the Single Pop Maker but it will make 3 popsicles before it has to be refrozen.  My popsicle took longer than the average time but I had read ahead in the directions that layered popsicles can take more time…perfectly fine with me!

Tropical Twist Popsicle

Want to make the Tropical Twist Popsicles?  Here’s How:

Ingredients:
Orange juice
1 small can of crushed pineapple
5 strawberries (mashed up and don’t get rid of any of the juice!)

Directions:
1. Take half a cup of orange juice and scoop 2 spoonfuls (just a regular spoon) of crushed pineapple into it.
2. In another bowl, mix another 1/2 cup of orange juice with the juice you got from your mashed strawberries and then add in a couple of the strawberry chunks.
3.  Get your Zoku Pop Maker out of the freezer and fill it a third of the way full with the orange/pineapple mix.  I found it easier to spoon the liquid into the pop maker rather than trying to pour it.  Now let it freeze.
4.  After the first portion is frozen, time to add the orange/strawberry mixture to the middle.  Fill the pop maker another third of the way full.  Once again, wait a few minutes until it’s frozen solid.
5.  Lastly, once the middle is frozen, add the final orange/pineapple layer and wait until it’s solid.
6.  Pop your popsicle out with your Super Tool (it’s included with your pop maker) and ENJOY!

Zoku Single Pop Maker ReviewYou can get your own Zoku Pop Maker here.  There are a variety of sizes and other neat tools available if you want to get really creative with popsicle making!  😉

Here’s the really awesome part…Zoku is giving away a Single Pop Maker in the color of your choice!

**GIVEAWAY CLOSED** Winner = @shadylynnb! DAY 9 = Santa’s Greeting Block + GIVEAWAY! Santa loves his HO, HO, HOs right?! 🎅🏼🎅🏽🎅🏿 So I figured for Day 9 of the #QuiltmasSpectacular, I’d give you the #SantasGreetingBlock, a free quilt block that’s plain and simple...and all about the man who likes cookies, drinks milk and brings gifts to children. 🙌🏻 What’s there not to love?! ❤️ Find the link in my profile to get your hands on the free pattern for this cute little block! . 258 178
It’s done and is now part of the #quiltsinthewasher gang! 🙌🏻 It will be packed up and shipped off to @themakingsofjoy to then be donated to #quiltsforthefatherless. It makes my heart so happy! 🥰 567 37
I’m another year older 🎉(and hopefully wiser) since I last posted…and figured I’d start by forcing myself to do something other than quilting with straight lines! 🙌🏻😂 I think I’ve put it off for so long since the perfectionist in me can’t stand trying things that I’m not good at (I like living within my quilty comfort zone 🙈). Buuuuut you have to start somewhere right? I’m attempting an orange peel quilting design and I’ll just have to go with the flow and not beat myself up too much over errors. It’s sooooo hard to let go though! I’m sure some of you know what I’m talking about. Wish me luck! 🤞🏻 410 61
🎉 And today the tester celebration comes to an end! 🎉 These final three ladies deserve a round of applause for their #DayTripQuilt versions! 📷 In order of quilty appearance = @finleyfabric, @sarahsew_sew and @spoolsandspice (they are tagged in their photos too!) Head to their accounts to see what they’ve been up to, you won’t be sorry (because who doesn’t love finding new quilt friends?!) And as with every pattern release, I owe a huge thanks to all of my testers. They dedicate themselves to sewing up a quilt and picking over my pattern to make sure all my math is correct along with hunting for all those grammar mistakes. 🙈 All so that my pattern is ready to go for its release date! 🙌🏻 I’m forever thankful to all of the testers I’ve shared with you this past week. 🥰 #patterntester #quiltpatterntester 515 8
Just when you thought I was done celebrating tester pics...I’m not! 📷 Genna of @wetmountainquiltco left me speechless with her #DayTripQuilt and her incredible photos! She is one of my all time favorites at taking #quiltsinthewild pics so go see for yourself over on her account! Stay tuned for the last two tester pics tomorrow. Then I’ll give it a rest! I promise! 😉🙌🏻 . 420 14
🎉Pattern SALE ends tonight!🎉 And I’m still not done sharing gorgeous #DayTripQuilt versions! 📷 Morgan of @morgankellyquilts (we’re name twins!) made a traditional version and came up with such a pretty and unique color palette! You must go take a peek at her account to be inspired by her beautiful makes and perfectly paired fabric combinations! 🥰 #quilt #modernquilt 269 12
