Easy Candy Cane Sugar Cookies {Giveaway}

Ingredients

  • Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix 1 egg + 1 softened stick of butter
  • Red food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375.
  2. Mix sugar cookie mix with egg and softened stick of butter until well blended.
  3. Divide batter into two parts, placing each in its own bowl.
  4. Take red food coloring and add drops to one half of the batter until reaching the desired red color.
  5. Then take a teaspoon of white batter and roll it out into a snake as Mabel calls it, ha! It should be about 4-5 inches long. Do the same with a teaspoon of red dough.
  6. Now gently twist the two strands together and lay in the shape of a candy cane on an ungreased cookie sheet. Lightly flatten the cookie with your finger (but be aware, if you flatten them too much, they'll be chubby candy cane cookies like mine!).
  7. Repeat until you use up all your dough.
  8. Bake for 7-9 minutes.
  9. Pull out of oven, let sit for a minute and then move cookies to a wire rack to cool.
