Just One Of Those Days

Today was just one of those days…

Mabel for the second time in less than two months, woke up soaked in pee.
Yuck.
I guess that’s what happens when she drinks too much in the middle of the night.

I had the joy of stripping her crib…which is a pain in the butt…and I had just done it the day before, so that made it even more painful, lol!

Little Miss Mabel got a bath and then was cranky for the rest of the morning.  I guess if I woke up covered in pee it probably wouldn’t be a great start to my day either…

She went down for a nap easily and slept an hour and a half.  And boy, after such a crabby morning, I’ll admit I was ready for a break.

Then she woke up…and was back to her sweet self…for a bit.

She let me take a few photos as she downed some of her favorite puffs.

Then it was time for nap #2.  Our attempts were futile.

She fought.
She cried.
And she threw just about everything out of her crib that she could.  That’s her new trick.

Seriously, whose baby is this?!

She won.

After about an hour and a half of trying to get her to nap, we determined it was close enough to her bedtime that she could make it until then.

And she made it.  Got dressed in her brand new jammies that Daddy had bought her from Target earlier today (and they were on clearance too…score some more points for Hubby!) and then she just wanted to chill with the iPad watching Sesame Street.  And after a day like today, I was more than willing to let her watch Elmo.

Finally at around 7:30, the little lady started rubbing her eyes and we knew she was ready.  Time for bed.

Thank goodness.

And within 2 minutes of her little head resting in her crib…she was out cold.

I’m exhausted.  But I gotta give her credit…she always keeps me on my toes and refreshes my sense of patience.

I’m optimistic that she’ll be back to her normal self tomorrow…I guess she’s just gotta wake up on the right side of the crib (not in her own pee).  😉

When our daughter started peeing through her diaper at night, we switched diapers. We have been using the Pampers Cruisers instead of the Swaddlers and Baby Dry ones and she hasn’t peed through a diaper since. Just an idea if you haven’t tried to help save you the agony of waking up to a pee soaked baby because that is no fun at all especially when it happens night after night!

Mabel currently wears the cruisers during the day…so I’ll have to try those at night. 🙂 She normally doesn’t have a problem unless she drinks a ton before bed and if she wakes up in the night. Thanks so much for the tip!

We also went up a size for nightime and it worked like a charm! She was in size 3 during the day and 4 at night. We used Pampers, as well, and they seemed to do the trick! 🙂 By the way, she is ADORABLE (even if she did wake up in pea :D)

Seems like everyone is saying to go a size up, so I’m going to have to try it! 🙂 And thanks for the compliments…I took a million photos and only a few were of a somewhat happy face, haha!

I have to agree… we use pampers baby dry size 3 during the day and pampers cruisers ultra absorbancy (bj’s sells them) size 4 at night….as they get older they pee more at night 🙂

My little lady wakes up wet every so often too because she sleeps on her stomach and all the pee just collects in the front of the diaper! Ugh, its terrible!!
