Yesterday was Mother’s Day and it keeps getting better and better each year (I know, that sounded like super cheesy mom-speak). But for real…we had a great day!
Last year I posted a belated Mother’s Day post where I had spent my day making Mabel’s 1st year growth photo.
This year, I spent it focused all around Mabel. I figured she’s the reason why I’m considered a mother so why not give her a fun filled day? Plus, it made me extremely happy to see the endless smiles on her face all day!
My in-laws had been visiting us all the way from Texas so they joined us on our little adventure to the local base playground.
Then it was time to go get some ice cream (Mabel’s current obsession is ice cream…she asks for it constantly!).
Nothing hits the spot like DQ mini blizzard right? A girl after my own heart!
And BTW, it was confetti cake and it was amazing!
Then it was time to head home for the men to start grilling up some dinner!
Hubs had the great idea of throwing the old charcoal dust in the backyard…you can see the cloud of it below, behind Mabel.
And then I guess Mabel saw it as an opportunity to play in it. Being the awesome mother that I am (note the sarcasm), I let Mabel go for it. I figured as long as she wasn’t eating it, it was nothing that a bath wouldn’t cure!
I thought the Toms were a casualty though…but they were saved after a quick rinse in the sink. 😉
Last goal of the day: Mother/Daughter photo.
Those are normally mission impossible.
Today was no different.
Yep, that’s me right before I fell to the ground.
She just won’t sit still! But I guess that’s the prerogative of a two year old.
So this photo will have to do:
Hey, she’s smiling in it…so I’m a happy momma!
I hope all of you wonderful mommas out there had a wonderful day!
