Towards the end of November, the kind people over at Bump Nest decided to send this tired and achy pregnant momma a pregnancy pillow. I had tried two other brands of pregnancy pillows (I’m not naming names but one had a similar shape to the Bump Nest and one looked like a tiny curved regular pillow) while pregnant with Mabel and hadn’t been too impressed so I had high hopes for this gorgeous pillow!
This is how my pillow arrived a little over six weeks ago (I wanted to give it a decent amount of time to try out so that I could give you a completely honest review of what I thought of it). Right out of the bag (this bag doubles as a travel bag so it’s easy to take with you on the go) I was surprised by how it felt…surprised in a good way! The pillow itself was soft yet supportive and could easily be repositioned while in bed. It was easy to wrap around me for support (just like a nest!) and place between my legs for hip/lower back support. I was really impressed with this since a previous pregnancy pillow I had tried while pregnant with Mabel was heavy, super stiff, and just all around uncomfortable!
If you’ll notice in the photo below, the bottom portion of the Bump Nest has a seam almost two thirds of the way down which allows you to easily bend it for a customized support of your hips and lower back. Total dream come true! My discomfort in the middle of the night when waking up for bathroom trips and when waking up in the morning was greatly reduced.
Now you might be wondering how exactly you sleep with it…well first off, you don’t need your normal pillow for your head. The Bump Nest cradles your head, neck and shoulders and for me was the perfect density, not too hard and not too soft. As for what direction to sleep with…it’s up to you and your personal preference The pillow encouraged me to be a side sleeper (for some odd reason only when I’m pregnant do I find myself waking up on my back which isn’t good while pregnant so the Bump Nest helped me break that habit). I’ve also found that I like to sleep facing the shorter side of the pillow. It lets me use the longer portion as extra support on my entire back and it’s easy to pull the lower portion between my legs/hips to reduce the pressure on my pelvic bone.
Sounds awesome, right? Well, I’m sure you’re wondering about how this pillow holds up over time and how you clean it. Here’s the low down…the shape does slightly conform over time but with routine washing I’ve found that it easily pops back into shape. And yep, you can wash the cover AND the pillow. Just pop them in the washer (you just have to remove the cover which is super simple) and then into the dryer.
That’s what it looked like after being washed and dried…back to its super fluffy and supportive self! The cover has a long hidden zipper, which makes it very easy to get on and off. And trust me, if were a major hassle I would tell you because what pregnant momma has time for that?!
I’m truly happy that I have this pillow to last me that remaining seven weeks or so to help me through the rest of this pregnancy. My only regret is actually not having a Bump Nest pillow earlier in my pregnancy! I could been more comfortable earlier on…so yeah, totally kicking myself for that!

Bump Nest sent me a pillow for review with no other form of compensation. I seriously love this pillow and want to spread the word to all the pregnant ladies out there!
I’m done having babies and I want this just to cuddle with.
Oh I’m already trying to think of ways to continue to use this after the baby arrives. 😉 I think I sleep better with it than with just my regular pillow so I can totally see me using it while not pregnant!
I wish they made those when I was pregnant. Awesome!
I have already known for the past year that I am 100% getting one of these once I’m eventually pregnant. I also know that after my pregnancy, I will totally use this. It seriously looks like the best pillow ever!
I need to remember this next time for a baby shower gift!!
The pillow sounds nice. I really love your headboard!
I had something similar during my pregnancy and it was a sanity saver. About the only thing that let me get comfortable enough to sleep. Love the pattern!
I want that pillow and I am done having kids LOL It looks awesome.
Oh wow! I don’t think the Bump Nest existed when I was pregnant with little miss over 3 years ago. I think I had the same pregnancy pillow that you mentioned in the beginning of your post. 😉 And I loved that one, but I am pretty sure I would have loved a Bump Best ever better!
That looks amazing! I wish I had one for my pregnancy. Now I want another baby just to use this.
I’ve heard the BEST things about these pillows!
This pillow looks amazing and I’m not even pregnant! I will have to share with all my preggo friends.
That looks and sounds like an awesome pillow. I’ve heard great things about it.
