Getting Active with Tater

I’ve been obsessed with pugs as long as I can remember so as soon as I graduated college I added Tater to my family. Little did I know, his name would fit him perfectly…even his weight.

Let me show you Tater at age two:

A handsome, gorgeous pug with a sturdy build and a happy-go-lucky personality! I don’t think he’s ever met someone that he hasn’t liked.

Two years later we decided to add another pug to our pack…little Bruce:

Tater didn’t seem to mind and actually enjoyed having Bruce around to mentor. A little puppy kept him active and in pretty good shape.

But at the age of six, Tater’s metabolism has slowed and his weight has been going up. That’s not so good. 🙁

But speaking of weight…my husband and I have been working hard to lose the extra weight of our own. He lost 30 pounds during his deployment and I lost a total of 20…woohoo! So when I heard of the Purina® Pro Plan® Fitness Group Page I was excited. Seriously, how hadn’t I thought of combining my fitness with Tater’s? We could be getting healthier together!

By signing up with their MapMyFitness Challenge page I’ve been able to find lots of tips and motivation to get both myself and Tater in our best shape ever. There is also a Leash On Challenge going on through 11/13 where anyone who signs up is entered to win prizes too. I’ve been loving the engagement on the site so I hope you’ll join me!

Now that I’m all signed up with Tater, there is no excuse to not be active! I can keep the extra weight off all while working towards helping Tater to lose his extra pounds and extending his healthy life. I hope to have as many years possible with Tater by my side since he truly is a member of our family. 🙂
