Getting Ready For A Date Night

In the next few weeks we’ll be traveling to visit family in Texas and included in that is the chance to a have proper ‘date night’ with my husband.  And boy am I excited about that…we haven’t had a a date night since November and we are way overdue!   Yes, I’m the mom that’s way over protective…we don’t have a sitter here in Delaware so I feel like the only time we are able to have a night for just me and my husband is when we are with family who can watch Mabel.  I probably need to come to terms with allowing people who aren’t family to watch her but that’s another issue for another post.  🙂

It’s safe to say that on these rare occasions called ‘date nights’ that I like to go all out and pamper myself while getting ready for a night out.  So let me show you what’s in my beauty bag that I’m packing for our trip:

Now the first thing that comes to mind when I see all of that stuff is: “Yay, I’m going to get an uninterrupted shower (no toddlers running crazy through the bathroom), I’ll be able to pamper myself and then get to enjoy a lovely night out on the town with my husband”.

And the best part?  No yoga or sweatpants allowed (I’m guilty of wearing them way often than I should)!

My plan of attack for getting ready for our date night includes a glorious hot shower and my lovely Gillette Venus and Olay Razor (and since it doesn’t need shaving cream, it’s my favorite razor for getting my legs shaved quickly even when it’s not date night!).  I also really love Olay Sensitive Body Wash…it doesn’t have a scent which I prefer since I can wear any perfume I want and it won’t clash.

And then of course it’ll be makeup time!  I hardly ever have time to do my makeup like I was able to before I had Mabel so I indulge in all the extra time that I get when I’m prepping for date night!  🙂  I’ve packed all my old favorites and a few new ones including:  COVERGIRL’s Bombshell Volume Mascara!  It’s like two mascaras in one.  One side is for volume and the other side is for intensity.

I’m beyond excited and looking forward to our trip to Texas!  I just have to figure out what I’m going to wear and where my husband and I are going to go on our date night!

Any suggestions for either the Austin or Houston area?!  Leave me some ideas in the comment section!
