Mabel is 1 Week Old – Breastfeeding is Challenging!
Time flies when you’re having fun (or a walking zombie due to the lack of sleep!) Mabel is officially one week old today and I can’t believe it! She’s been a really well behaved baby so far even though we are having a tad bit difficulty when it comes to breast feeding. I thought it would be a breeze, but surprisingly it can be fairly difficult for a lot of women. I have a lactation consult meeting tomorrow along with our 1 week checkup at our birth center tomorrow. I’m excited to receive some much needed help on getting this little girl to latch! I will post tomorrow more in depth on our journey of beginning breast feeding, issues we’ve faced and what I learn at my appointment. I figure I can share the wealth with some other mommies or soon to be mommies!

She's a little sweetie!
Just a few quick tips on breastfeeding I learned the hard way:
Tickle her bottom lip and make sure her mouth is open wide enough. Also- make sure she has enough nipple in her mouth. Don't let her "chew" her way up your nipple. It will break down the skin and hinder your progress.
Don't give up! It will be second nature before you know it. Congrats!
look at all that hair and wow look how skinny u look already…breastfeeding is hard usually takes a month or so to get easy…with my son by the time i got going good my milk dried up fr blood pressure meds they had me on 🙁
You already have 1 week down!! If you can stick it out 3 more weeks, I think you'll see a major difference! Hope all goes well tomorrow for you and Mabel!
