36 Weeks and Counting

This photo was taken at 36 weeks and 1 day:

36 weeks pregnant

Yay for bathroom selfies…seriously, this poor baby will be remembered in utero solely in bathroom pics because I haven’t had time to take them anywhere else.

Anyway, today I’m 36 weeks and 3 days and am free to go into labor at our birth center anytime after 37 weeks (this Sunday)!  I’ve already had some well intentioned friends remind me that 40 weeks is best.  Yep…totally know that but if this little gal decides to come earlier than that, there’s nothing much more I can do.  Lol, it’s not like I can cross my legs and tell her to hold on a few weeks.  😉  Mabel came at 38 weeks and 3 days all on her own…so I guess we’ll just wait and see when her sister feels like arriving!  I’m not ready yet so I’ll be glad to wait a few more weeks.

For those of you wanting to know…

  • I’m up a total of 34 pounds which I’m very happy with!
  • Heartburn has gotten worse and I wasn’t sure that was possible but oh boy it is!  This is giving me issues with me being dehydrated since I’m having trouble keeping any liquid down without popping a Tums prior to drinking.  I remember my heartburn magically going away as soon as Mabel was delivered so I’m assuming that will be the case again (fingers crossed).
  • I’m getting lovely cramping (light) on a daily basis…I sure hope that’s a sign that everything is getting prepared.  😉
  • Swelling isn’t an issue…my rings stopped fitting weeks ago but they were pretty tight be begin with.  And ankles are still ankles…no cankles yet.
  • We have a name…but my husband wants to wait until delivery to share…so I’ll keep you all in suspense a tad longer.  It’s vintage and old…we figured it goes very well with Mabel’s name.  🙂
  • My hospital bag is still not packed (you thought I’d learn my lesson with Mabel.  I was packing like a crazy person after my water broke).
  • The nursery will not be done before Baby Girl #2 arrives.
  • I don’t get dressed in anything other than yoga pants and lounge wear unless I leave the house, which at this point is pretty much for appointments.  I’m pretty uncomfortable so I’m just thankful that my husband has willingly taken over duties like grocery shopping.
  • I’m currently working on my birth plan…stay tuned for that!

I know I’ve already said it multiple times but I truly am thankful to everyone who has commented, shared their own story, or given support on this post.  I didn’t expect the responses and it’s truly made me more impressed by all of you ladies!

3.5 days left until Sunday!  😉  37 weeks here I come!

Can’t wait to hear what little lady #2’s name will be and to see pics once she arrives! I’ll be 36 weeks on Sat so you’re a few days ahead of me. I love reading your blogs and look forward to hearing the birth story in a few weeks!

I can’t wait to share it and the photos (we are having another birth photographer this time around since we don’t have local family to take photos). Congrats on being so close to the end too! 🙂 Thanks for reading and please keep me updated on when your little one arrives!

I’ve been following you since before you had Mabel and feel like I know you even though you have no clue who I am! haha. Anyway I hope you have a quick and easy delivery and I’m looking forward to “meeting” your new little girl and hearing the name!! Also, I had both of my girls at 38 week so with my son I was fully expecting to have him at 38 weeks and it turns out he went past his due date! Ahh!! So you just never know when these little ones will decide to make their grand entrance… 🙂

**GIVEAWAY CLOSED** Winner = @shadylynnb! DAY 9 = Santa’s Greeting Block + GIVEAWAY! Santa loves his HO, HO, HOs right?! 🎅🏼🎅🏽🎅🏿 So I figured for Day 9 of the #QuiltmasSpectacular, I’d give you the #SantasGreetingBlock, a free quilt block that’s plain and simple...and all about the man who likes cookies, drinks milk and brings gifts to children. 🙌🏻 What’s there not to love?! ❤️ Find the link in my profile to get your hands on the free pattern for this cute little block! . 258 178
It’s done and is now part of the #quiltsinthewasher gang! 🙌🏻 It will be packed up and shipped off to @themakingsofjoy to then be donated to #quiltsforthefatherless. It makes my heart so happy! 🥰 567 37
I’m another year older 🎉(and hopefully wiser) since I last posted…and figured I’d start by forcing myself to do something other than quilting with straight lines! 🙌🏻😂 I think I’ve put it off for so long since the perfectionist in me can’t stand trying things that I’m not good at (I like living within my quilty comfort zone 🙈). Buuuuut you have to start somewhere right? I’m attempting an orange peel quilting design and I’ll just have to go with the flow and not beat myself up too much over errors. It’s sooooo hard to let go though! I’m sure some of you know what I’m talking about. Wish me luck! 🤞🏻 410 61
🎉 And today the tester celebration comes to an end! 🎉 These final three ladies deserve a round of applause for their #DayTripQuilt versions! 📷 In order of quilty appearance = @finleyfabric, @sarahsew_sew and @spoolsandspice (they are tagged in their photos too!) Head to their accounts to see what they’ve been up to, you won’t be sorry (because who doesn’t love finding new quilt friends?!) And as with every pattern release, I owe a huge thanks to all of my testers. They dedicate themselves to sewing up a quilt and picking over my pattern to make sure all my math is correct along with hunting for all those grammar mistakes. 🙈 All so that my pattern is ready to go for its release date! 🙌🏻 I’m forever thankful to all of the testers I’ve shared with you this past week. 🥰 #patterntester #quiltpatterntester 515 8
Just when you thought I was done celebrating tester pics...I’m not! 📷 Genna of @wetmountainquiltco left me speechless with her #DayTripQuilt and her incredible photos! She is one of my all time favorites at taking #quiltsinthewild pics so go see for yourself over on her account! Stay tuned for the last two tester pics tomorrow. Then I’ll give it a rest! I promise! 😉🙌🏻 . 420 14
🎉Pattern SALE ends tonight!🎉 And I’m still not done sharing gorgeous #DayTripQuilt versions! 📷 Morgan of @morgankellyquilts (we’re name twins!) made a traditional version and came up with such a pretty and unique color palette! You must go take a peek at her account to be inspired by her beautiful makes and perfectly paired fabric combinations! 🥰 #quilt #modernquilt 269 12
