Dinner Tonight…And I’m 11 Weeks and 2 Days!

This is going to be a post in progress throughout the day…so check back!
Hubby and I got a wonderful crock pot (a wonderful Cuisinart $100 crock pot might I add) back in Colorado before we moved…and I had been promising him that I would become more ‘domesticated’ once we got to Delaware.  Lol, I figured what better time to become a good cook than now with a baby on the way!  So, we found the crock pot and I got all excited and looked up lots of recipes online.  Here’s the problem…we found the crock pot base…but have no clue to where the lid is or if it even made it here from the movers…SOLUTION:  Until I find it, we went out to Walmart and bought a Crock Pot brand, 7 qt crock pot for the lovely price of $25!  So, if I find the lid to my expensive one, then no harm done.
We went grocery shopping last night for the 4 recipes I found…and we’ll be eating for at least 2 weeks!  Each recipe has way too much food for 2 people so I figure Hubby will have food to take to work for lunch!
This is the recipe I’m cooking tonight:  Chuckwagon Stew (click the name for the link, because I’m not going to claim it’s mine, lol!)
Here is a pic of what it looked like when I prepared it and put it in first thing this morning at 7:30 am:
Stay tuned for an after picture and a review later this evening…
Oh and I almost forgot…I’m 11 week and 2 days!  🙂  I’ll be posting a video this evening or tomorrow!

That looks yummy! I will have to give it a try. Crock Pot recipes are great during the winter! I was 19 when we first got married, and now I'm 24. I was not very domesticated in regards to cooking way back then, but through the years I've acquired some skills. I think they get even better when your children get a bit older, and you have to vary foods a little more. I recently for the first time made my own spaghetti sauce and it was sooo easy and delicious, and wayyy better than the crap I used to buy in the can ; )

It was pretty good! You'll have to give it a shot. I'm looking forward to expanding my cooking skills but like you said, with everything going on, it's hard to try things that aren't 'easy', lol!
