While on one of my most recent Pinterest binges I saw some ideas of cute little jars used to hold makeup brushes. At the time, I didn’t have any use for one but since I recently got a new vanity I figured it was the perfect time to put this idea to use!
Here’s how I made mine (I didn’t really make it, just bought all the stuff and threw it together, easy peasy!):
I got both the glass jar and glass gems from Target. I think the glass jar was around $9 but I’m sure you can find one for cheaper. The glass gems were about $5 and I used 1 1/2 containers to fill the glass. You can find both of these in the candle aisle in Target. I’m assuming you could go to the dollar store and find similar materials.
All I did was add the glass gems into the glass jar about 3/4 of the way full and then add my brushes. I think it’s visually appealing and practical! It keeps my brushes upright, preventing the tops from getting mangled.
And if you’re curious, the brushes I own are Bobbi Brown (brushes can be pricey but last) and Sigma (affordable brushes but great quality)…I love both of the brands! Lastly, the light next to my brush holder is a Scentsy Warmer: Heirloom for $28. Goes perfectly with the shabby chic dresser. 🙂

I never thought to use it as a gift! Great idea…and you could personalize the color of the glass gems or even put a ribbon around it!
