Let’s start out with my before and after:
8 weeks ago many of you will remember that I decided to take the plunge and dye my hair for the first time. I went from a natural medium blonde to a medium red. You’ll notice from the ‘before’ photo that my red had faded to a light orange.
Let’s just say that red is a very hard color to maintain even if you use color safe shampoo.
Before going to the salon on Friday I decided that I wanted to go back blonde. I missed it. But when explaining this to my hairdresser she said it could be done, but that she would have to ‘strip’ my hair to take it back to full blonde. She also warned that this could really damage my hair. She suggested that we touch up my roots and then add blonde highlights and over my next appointments we’d just continue to add more and more blonde highlights. This will eventually take me back blonde and not damage my hair like ‘stripping’ it would. Sounded okay to me.
So…that’s how I ended up with my ‘after’ pic. She also curled it, which no matter how many tips I get from her I can’t recreate the same look at home. I like it and even though it’s not back to a full blonde yet, I think it’s pretty fun. I like that it has dimension now compared to the first time we colored it and it was just a straight up red.
I can’t believe it took me this long to experiment with coloring my hair…after all, it’s just hair and it can always be changed! So why not have some fun?
turned out great, have fun with it and the red will cintinue to fade out!!
I loooooooooove it! I think you should stick w/the red w/blonde highlights. It has so much dimension and looks amazing! 🙂
I think this hair looks great on you.enjoy your new hair colour
I love the strawberry blond and highlights! It looks great with your skin tone. 🙂 very natural looking.
Love the mini hair makeover! Super cute!!!
Love it! The highlights gives it a little extra oomph! 🙂
oohhh love your new hair color it sure fits ya..you look great girl
If you want to recreate those curls, what you need is a really good curling iron. My friend has hair that even when she goes to the salon to get her hair curled, it doesn’t last. But, she used my amazing curling iron (even though I have curly hair, I have a curling iron lol) and it lasted for her! It’s called the Enzo Milano Clipless Curling iron – I would get a big barrel if you want the big curls/waves. If you ever order it and post a review, I’d love to see that! 🙂
