The awesome people over at Munchkin found out I was pregnant and decided send me their new LATCH bottle to see what I thought. As always, I’m very selective of companies I work with and my opinions are 100% my own!
Now right off the bat, I know some of you are thinking…she doesn’t have a baby at the moment, what’s she know about bottles? Well, I can tell you that I’ve been around the block a few times with Mabel when she was a baby and bottles were our friends. 🙂 I was a pumper and a bottle feeder (my troubles with breast feeding were never ending with Mabel and I’m hoping it’ll be easier the second time around) and I also enjoyed the fact that bottles allowed my husband to participate in feedings. Anyway…like I said…this momma knows her way around bottles!
I’ll be the first to admit that a lot of things have changed in the three years we’ve had a little baby in the house…bottles included. So it’s been pretty neat seeing all of the new changes as we prepare to welcome Baby #2 this February! First off, the LATCH bottle has a pretty simple anti-colic valve at the bottom of the bottle (little blue valve) and this is great being that most of the bottles I remember had complicated pieces and parts. The LATCH bottle is very straightforward = two thumbs up in my book!
Secondly, the nipples are awesome (yep, I just said nipples are awesome). They were designed to make the transition from breast to bottle and back to breast very easy. The LATCH nipples stretch, move in all directions and pump like the same movements a baby would be used to nursing from mom.
I tried to best illustrate how well the nipple bends (with one hand on the bottle and the other on the camera, what can I say? I’ve got skills!):
And he’s another photo to help explain 😉
With new baby items popping up around the house, we’ve been trying to keep Mabel very included with everything that goes on. And once she saw the LATCH bottle, her first reaction was to want to try feeding her baby doll.
She was pretty thrilled with the whole experience and I have to admit, my pregnancy hormones got the best of me and I was pretty mushy/sentimental about watching it all. She’s going to be a great big sister.
And I can’t forget to mention that she’s also the inspector in our house…she can’t let anything new come into the house without checking it out and making sure it fits her standards, lol!
If I’ve piqued your interest in Munchkin’s LATCH bottle, I highly suggested taking a minute to check it out at Babies R’ Us. AND also a quick heads up! Munchkin is hosting a #LoveLATCH Twitter party tomorrow (11/12) at 11AM – Noon (EST) for the chance to WIN some great prizes!
I would love to hear your experiences when it comes to feeding your little ones or your plans for future little ones. 🙂
You can also enjoy free shipping at Munchkin.com with the purchase of a LATCH bottle or pacifier using the code LOVELATCH, which will expire 12/31/14 (one per customer; U.S. residents only)
