All my bags are packed and I’m ready to go…I’m leavin’ on a jet plane. Don’t know when I’ll be back again. – John Denver
That song has been washing over me again and again today. Tomorrow is the big day!
It’s been a whirlwind past two weeks…
We had three sets of movers and packers take our house apart. Then we spent that entire weekend cleaning our house of the past three years out. I need that deposit back, lol! I can’t say that I’ll miss the town or the base but this was a good little house. Plus, it was yet another house where I brought a new baby home to…which made it a bit sad to leave.
We then went on to live in a hotel in Sumter, South Carolina for the overlapping time that we had no house and my husband still had to report to work.
Hotel life. 😉 Cramped quarters at its finest. And yes, Mabel did have shorts on, lol!
We then drove the 8 hours up to Maryland to stay with my father for this past week. It’s been pretty neat seeing the girls in the house + town that I grew up in.
We went to a park and of course they only wanted to play in the puddles rather than playing on the playground equipment.
Maryland will always have a fond place in my heart. So will the Chesapeake Bay and Old Bay seasoning! 🙂
The past two days have been insane. We packed wayyyy too much in our car so I’ve been having to get rid of more things along with washing a TON of laundry. Then I’ve had to pack luggage for 4 people…because the kids can’t do their own yet and my husband at the age of 32 still can’t fold/pack his own suitcase properly. Ha!
All four of us (and the two pugs!) head out tomorrow to leave the United States for probably the next 3 years.
It’s all just been a pretty mind blowing experience. I mean, it’s crazy to think that less than 3 months ago we we’re hoping to head back out to the western side of the United States and here we are, about to head out across the Atlantic! It’s pretty exciting too! 😉
Stay tuned for updates from The United Kingdom!
And be sure to check out my instagram account for more current updates on this crazy move! I’m pretty sure I’ll have cell service before I get access to my blog again.
