Disco Stars Quilt Pattern

Disco Stars is the ultimate patchwork party of 9 patches and stars! It’s both fat quarter and scrap friendly too!

Who doesn’t love the combination of large disco ball blocks combined with stars?! The Disco Stars version in the photo above is the scrap busting option and it may be one of my all time favorite quilts that I’ve sewn up! I paired a bunch of gray and black prints (all are from Ruby Star Society collections) for the inspired disco ball look and being the bright colorful rainbow loving quilter that I am, I threw in a random colored 9 patch to each block. The mini stars are the black Sugar print and the background print is the Starry print in natural, both from Ruby Star Society.

And yes, I purchased that disco ball just for this photo and now it lives permanently hanging from the ceiling above my sewing machine. Best purchase ever, lol! Everyday is a party when I sew!

And of course the quilt looks fabulous in any color or print combination you throw at it. The fabrics above are the Ruby+Bee Solids and upcoming Blenders collection by Heather Ross for Windham Fabrics! So bold and fun!

The classic elements of nine patches and stars just can’t be beat!

Here’s another version of the pattern sewn by Jenny of @AristotleFace + La Bizarra Keepsake Quilts:

It’s ABSOLUTELY stunning in those blues with pops of lime and purple. The dark background Jenny chose really makes everything stand out!

Here’s one final look at the pattern mocked up in the Salutations collection, coming soon by Rashida Coleman-Hale for Ruby Star Society:

It’s pretty neat how different a quilt can look depending on if the background fabric used is light or dark, isn’t it?!
