We felt a tad guilty this year about Mabel’s birthday…she had been a week into having a brand new sister when the 14th rolled around and her big day didn’t quite revolve around her as much as I had wanted it to.
So no Pinterest worthy, over the top birthday.
She got a Mickey Mouse birthday cake, some fun Disney gifts from her Grandmother, and a momma who was overly emotional due to the crazy baby hormones. Sorry Mabel.
A week later, after finally getting out of the house, we got Mabel a gift that we knew she’d really enjoy: a Hello Kitty Karaoke Car.
I remember getting a Barbie Corvette around the same age as Mabel…and I had been scared to drive it. But guess who had no hesitations…Mabel. She jumped right in and floored it.
Only problem is she didn’t understand that stopping required her to lift her foot off the pedal. This resulted in her almost running me over while I was trying to take photos. I should have known better. I dove out of the way just in time and she flew by laughing. Um, I think she knew what she was doing.
Mabel has no clue who Hello Kitty is but I’ll admit it’s a pretty sweet little car. And as if it couldn’t get any better…it comes loaded with a karaoke mic. For real.
Lol, I guess it’s a good idea to teach kids early that she should try to drive and multitask. Maybe they should have included a cell phone so she could try texting too (total sarcasm there).
But she loved it and that’s all that mattered.
And if you’re curious…that mic is loud. As in our neighbors can probably hear her singing ABC’s while they are in their houses.
Best money ever spent. 🙂
