Can you believe it? Mabel is 10 months old today! It’s crazy to think that in 2 months she’ll be 1!
I’ve been way overdue for a vlog so here it is:
Other things that I forgot to mention in the video:
*Mabel has been eating toddler foods – Gerber bowls to be exact. They make little bowls of small cut veggies (I’ve tried to do them fresh but I can never cut them as tiny as the pre-made bowls are. She also loves the oatmeal bowls that they make. We’ve tried giving her chunks of food as mentioned with baby-led weaning but she always chokes because she tries to stick the whole thing in her mouth or bites off chunks too big for her to handle. I’ve almost had a heart-attack several times. So we’ve decided baby led weaning isn’t for us…we’ll continue to let her try new things and textures but just slowly and a little more of the old school way of thinking with softer foods = better. 🙂
*Mabel sleeps with a bumper in her crib. I know, I know…I have to eat my words from earlier! I said she would never sleep with a bumper in her crib. But what ended up happening is that she didn’t transition to sleeping in her crib until she was 6 months old and by that point she was able to move herself and her head. And a bumper wasn’t put in her crib until she decided she that she would only sleep with her head mashed in the corner of her crib. In went the bumper. And yes, I know babies can’t physically hurt themselves on their crib, BUT it saved countless nights of her crying and being uncomfortable. In the end, I think that if your child is old enough to move around so that they aren’t ever in a situation where their face is plastered against a bumper…it’s okay to have one in there (I still am not a fan of having a bumper in a crib before a baby can move on his/her own). But hey…to each their own. One thing I’ve learned since I’ve become a mom…is to stop being so judgmental of other mommas.
*And as for me…I’m still working on my fitness. I’m still not where I want to be 10 months after Mabel’s birth. I’m exactly at my pre-pregnancy weight now but I feel like I still need to lose another 5-10 pounds to be comfortable.
