My New Face Care Regimen

I’ve complained about my face and my skin a lot on this blog.  I’m constantly plagued with a blemish or two and then it’ll leave a pesky red mark on my face long after it’s gone.  🙁  I’m in my late 20’s…this shouldn’t still be a problem for me!

I’m always trying new things which will normally give me success for a short period of time before my skin goes back to looking like I’m 16…ugh!  My major problem is that I’ve got combination skin…an oily T-zone and then patches of flaky skin throughout my entire face (even in the oily areas!).  And no matter how much I try to exfoliate…the flakes remain which give me a lot of grief when it comes to putting foundation on.  Some of you have to know what I’m talking about…you put your foundation on and it makes the dry area of skin look even worse.

And if you’re wondering, I have tried Proactive and it chemically burned my face.  That stuff is strong!  I then went on to try their gentle formula and it didn’t do anything!

So a few months ago I got a sample of DHC’s Deep Cleansing Oil in Mabel’s Citrus Lane box (they occasionally have mom samples included).  I had been hesitant to use it since my logic was, ‘Why the heck would I want to use oil on my face if my face is already oily?’.  I thought for sure it would break me out even worse, so I put it in my bathroom drawer and forgot about it.

But three weeks ago, I got fed up with my skin and my breakouts.  I figured I’d try the oil.  And I have to admit that I’ve been pleasantly surprised.  The olive/fruit oil in the product actually breaks down and washes away your excess skin oils.  My skin has also felt more moisturized, my flaky patches are diminishing, and my breakouts are slowing.

I decided that if the oil was working that I should give some of DHC’s other face products a try.  They have a 60 day full refund option if you aren’t satisfied for any reason, so that is a major bonus.  I didn’t want to spend money on products if they didn’t work!  Also just for background info…I had never heard of DHC until I got the sample but apparently it’s a pretty well known skin care/body care company in Asia that is based in Japan.

So these are the items that I purchased (and just so you know DHC has no clue who I am):

DHC Skincare Products

Products from left to right (and that’s the order I use them in too):
Deep Cleansing Oil – $5.50 – $28
Pure Soap – $12
Balancing Lotion – $26
Acerola Cream – $23

One really neat thing I liked when ordering was that I got to pick 4 samples when I was checking out…and they even included 3 extra samples!  And like I said earlier, DHC does not know that I’m a blogger.  🙂

I plan on updating you all in about a month to give you an honest opinion of how the products are working.  I think 30 days is a sufficient time to give the products a chance and to let you know what I think.  🙂

I hope they continue to work for the sake of my skin!

Have you tried any of DHC’s products?

I used DHC cleansing oil and it gave me the worst break out ever! Although there are many people who have had luck with this stuff, I am not one of them : (

I don’t know about this particular brand but I used to have a super oily t-zone with skin flakes all over my nose and mid forehead. exfoliating didn’t help much. when applying moisturizer I’d always skip my t-zone, instead would smear it with primer, anti shine, oil control and stuff. until one day i thought maybe if i moisturize it, it won’t produce so much oil of itself and guess what? it worked!

I stumbled upon one of your vlogs googling “vitafusion prenatal vitamins” and I think I’ve been on your youtube channel and blog for the last hour or so!!!
I am trying to conceive and this has been a really helpful mommy blog. (I had no idea such things called “mommy blogs” existed!!)
Count me in as a regular from now on!! 🙂
DHC is a very popular brand in Asia. I used the deep cleansing oil for a while and loved it. 🙂
I like to change up my skin care regimen every now and then…so now I use something else (purity by philosophy).
Also, I know this sounds really weird but you can also use a good extra virgin olive oil in lieu of the cleansing oil too!! 😉

Choose a soap that will cleanse your body and not
just perfume it a little bit. Vitamin E is particularly beneficial, promoting healing, good blood
circulation, and fortified capillary walls. If our body is producing
skin cells to repair wrinkles, there would be no problem at all, and all wrinkles
    would be temporary in nature.
