Project Life: Week 4

Project Life: Week 4 - Entire Layout. Black and White by ModernMommyhood.com

With all the chaos of trying to get our house ready to put on the market (are you getting tired of me talking about that yet?!) I was able to find a few minutes to finish up Week 4 of my Project Life.

Since I’m so far behind, I’ve decided to try to keep most of my layouts as simple as possible.  I still tend to over think things but layouts are getting a little easier for me.

Here is the left side of Week 4:

I went with black, white and various shades of gray for this layout and thought it needed a pop of color so I added some blue.

Here is an up close shot of the right side:

Once again…simple, simple, simple.  🙂

So what were some of my favorite cards this week?

One for sure was the watercolor card I created!

I used a simple watercolor palette that I had found on Amazon (links are affiliate links) here and a neat little watercolor brush that holds water in it!  While I was painting, I was able to squeeze the brush and squirt more water onto the paper when I felt like the color needed to be dispersed more.  Once the watercolor was dry, I cut the paper into 3×4 cards and added a little stamp that I had recently purchased from Studio Calico.

I also added more of the watercolor on this card with Tater the pug.  🙂  I felt like I needed to add some of the same blue on the right side of the layout to balance everything out.  After seeing this, my husband pointed out that so far this year I’ve only put photos of Tater in my album and have ignored our other dog…oops!  Poor Bruce the pug!  I’ve taken a few extra pics of him to add into layouts over the next few weeks!

This was one of the most easy and simple cards…and I love it just because it’s a photo of Mabel and me.  🙂  I don’t get too many photos of the two of us so I’m happy when I get a decent one that’s not a selfie shot on the phone!  I didn’t want to over embellish the card so it got a simple label, an ampersand sticker, and some fancy stapling done with my Tim Holtz stapler (which I’m obsessed with by the way!).

And my finally my last favorite card this week:

Enamel dots!  These are from Freckled Fawn and they were just enough to jazz up a plain white card.

Do you do Project Life too?  If you feel like it, leave a link to your blog below so that I can check out what you’ve been up to.  🙂
