The ‘Giant’ Chip Alternative

Ever since having Mabel, being more conscious of what I eat has turned into a top priority.  I just can’t eat like I used to before I had a kid…lets just say my metabolism isn’t what is used to be, lol!  I’m not a calorie counter by any means but I’m always looking for healthy alternatives to my snack choices.  And those healthy alternative must taste good too!  I can’t stand healthy foods that taste like absolutely nothing.


I think I’ve found a winner:  Multi-Grain Sweet Potato Chips with Sea Salt and Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips!

I was pretty surprised when I heard that Green Giant was making Veggie Chips…and the fact that they are a better option that regular potato chips is a major bonus in my book!  The Roasted Veggie Chips have 17 grams of whole grain per serving and the Sweet Potato Chips have 40% less fat than regular potato chips.  Let’s just say that I’m not feeling guilty when it comes to snacking on these!

Though I really liked both chips, I’m a tad partial to the Sweet Potato Chips since I’ve been a fan of sweet potatoes my entire life.  They were full of flavor and a really hearty chip!

Now one rule I always follow when I snack is that I never eat directly out of the bag!  When I do that, I tend to overeat more than what is listed as a portion…so before I snack, I put the portion into a bowl and that’s all I’ll eat.  It’s a great way to not go overboard!  😉
