What to Wear During Labor? – BINSI Review

When I was preparing for labor, one of the first things that crossed my mind was ‘what should I wear?’.  Being that I was planning on giving birth in a birth center, I was given more options than just a hospital gown, and I wanted to take full advantage of this!  It was important for me to find clothing that would allow me the freedom to move how I wanted, be easy to put on or take off, give easy access for the midwife and nurse to check me, and something that was still attractive that let me celebrate that I was a woman in labor; accomplishing the beautiful task of bringing a baby into this world.

Finding clothing that fit all of my needs was not an easy task…until I found out about BINSI.  I was so thrilled to find a company that is run by two devoted moms who are dedicated to making products to ‘enhance your birth experience’.  They make a wide range of birth skirts and tops that allowed me to labor the way that I wanted to.

Here is my video talking about BINSI and the BINSI products I used during my labor:

I’m still in love with the fact that I’ve been able to get multiple uses out of each item.  I wore the skirt as maternity wear and I’m still using the top as a nursing and sleep bra!

Visit BINSI’s website and see all the options you can choose from!  I had a great experience with BINSI for my first labor and delivery and when we have our next child (whenever that may be) I plan on using my BINSI top and skirt again!  😉

Nice post! I liked the way you get to the point – which is always useful. Most blogs are a bit too verbose for me, this one fits nicely. Cheers!

this looks like exactly what i would want to labor in! thanks for the review!

you mentioned that you have been able to use the garments since birth and plan to use them in future births…is the material very stain-resistant? did you have to wash out any blood, fluid, meconium stains and how well do the garments wash?

many people have told me that it might be necessary to change several times during labor due to constant leaking of amniotic fluid once your water has broken, as well as considerations such as getting the top wet if you labor in a tub then get out (wanting to change into something dry for the remainder of labor/delivery).

do you feel like one set of top/bottom is enough, and is it possible that they will get too soiled to use again after birth?

thank you for such an informative post.

I recently tried Morph maternity products and I must say that I am impressed. All their clothes are extremely comfortable and their sleep wear is superbly designed for during and post pregnancy with discrete openings for nursing. It is everything a woman could ask for.
